History

Our Story

The Elite Fresh Food group has been involved in the Hong Kong food industry for over 35 years and is a privately owned company managed by Mr. John Kwong and his family members. The group has a workforce of over 200 and is certified under both the International Organisation for Standardization ISO 22000 and the WHO Codex Alimentarius 2003 HACCP.

In 2012, Elite set up its own warehouse to streamline distribution and enhance the quality of its fresh meats and seafood. Since then, it has become the chief importer of Wagyu beef with over 80% of the imports, as well as introducing Hanwoo beef to the Hong Kong market. In 2018, Elite became the biggest importer of Japanese Wagyu beef.

    1984 – John Kwong and family establish Elite Fresh Food Co Ltd

    1984 – Elite Fresh Food partners with Loch Fyne Oysters & Smoked House (Scotland)

    1986 – Elite Fresh Food partners with Isigny Sainte-Mère (France)

  3. Milestone

    2007 – Elite Fresh Food becomes the first official importer of Japanese Wagyu beef

    2012 – Elite Fresh Food starts running its own warehouse to streamline operations

    2011 – Elite Fresh Food is certified under the International Organisation for Standardization ISO 9001:2008

    2016 – Elite Fresh Food is appointed the first importer of Korean Hanwoo beef

  8. Milestone

    2018 – Elite Fresh Food becomes the largest importer of Japanese Wagyu beef

    2018 – Elite Fresh Food attains further certification under ISO 22000:2005
